Striving for something more

“Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free”– Psalm 118:5

These past couple of days I’ve been wrapped up in the aforementioned truth. I mean, thinking about where I used to be, to where I am now, to what’s about to happen over the next couple of years…God is good y’all! There is no other explanation than, ‘the Lord answered me and set me free’. This ex-pothead on the road to opening a dispensary was lost, seeking peace and a purpose in this life, and found my freedom, purpose, and direction and life in Christ. Can I get an Amen?! The amazing thing is Christ offers Himself to all who seek Him. Like, why would you not want a God who wants you and provides an eternal hope of a purpose-driven life that could be lived to the fullest?

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart” — Psalm 37:4

We’re in a age where this generation and the next is all about living life to the fullest experiencing all we set our mind on, yet at the same time having no master and giving how many f’s…zero! It’s funny how the world looks at Christians and thinks they’re fools. I wonder which group could possibly be more envious of the other? Let me let you in on a secret, it ain’t the follower of Christ who has learned to pursue the intimate relationship Jesus desires to have with them

Finally, I got around to watching The Shawshank Redemption. Pretty good movie if I may say so. Andy Dufresne writes these words to Morgan Freeman’s character, “Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best things, and no good thing ever dies.” Here, Here Andy!

“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when He appears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as He is pure” — 1 John 3:1-3

John 10:10 — “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly

The greatness of God rouses fear within us, but His goodness encourages us not to be afraid of Him. To fear and not be afraid–That is the paradox of faith – A.W. Tozer

Matthew 22:37-38 — “And he said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment'”

You know, a problem I face is not keeping up consistently with my writing. Hahaha! If you can’t tell by just the random verses or quotes. Over the past months there have been so many things the Lord has taught me. It’s quite overwhelming! The above verses and quotes are just a handful. It’s amazing all the ways God speaks to his children. Currently He is giving me visions that I can draw and see clearly what He is talking about. It’s so cool! This experiencing and interacting with God is nothing like I was taught back when I was younger. It’s so much better! The life He invites you into and join His purpose for this world is incredible, suffering included, but incre-ible! (Pronounce with Spanish accent)! How I can relate to ole Harry Potter when God put forth His purpose to me…

Harry Potter: I…can’t be a wizard. I’m…just Harry. Just Harry.

I’m no wizard or anything God. I’m just Nikolai. Just Nikolai Why me Lord? Why you want to use me? I crack myself up yall haha

If you have made it this far, I apologize. Sometimes a man just needs space to jot down his feelings of excitement. Or post to just “blahh” his thoughts. I promise the next post will be a bit more organized. Perhaps I’ll stick to a theme. Who knows. Just keeping it casual.

I bid you adieu,
